Old location

John and Betty Reimer started this business in 1980, after seeing a need for a farm parts store in the southeast Manitoba area. John had previous experience in this field, working for his father John A. Reimer at Reimer Farm Supplies. The new business grew rapidly, it became too busy for John and Betty to handle on their own. Stan Friesen was hired to help out. Soon Farmyard was not just selling parts but also equipment. Ford, New Idea, Douglas Tillers were the beginnings of the equipment lines. Dick Friesen became John's partner in 1987, and the following 2 years they ran the business together. John purchased a Winnipeg location and for 1 1/2 years managed 2 locations, this became busier than he wanted it to be and the Winnipeg location was sold. In 1993 Eldon Fuchs joined the crew at Farmyard. Buying into the business and becoming a part owner with John. Farmyard Supply pulled up roots from the original location #11 Hwy 12N in September of 2003 and moved 2 miles north of the old location, #445 Hwy 12N.
